Heatwave takes it's toll at CAPESTORM Rogaine

This weekend's CAPESTORM Rogaine took place at the Berlin Plantation in Kappschehoop, for the 1st time in many years it was clear cloudless skies the entire weekend, but it was also the beginning of a heatwave sweeping the area, many competitors fell victim to the conditions including multiple winner Nicholas Mulder who was forced to retired after collecting almost all the controls bar 1.

Winners on day 1 were the team of Jeremy Green and Nathan Thompson not withstanding being very late and accruing penalties, the MTB event on the Sunday was even hotter and many teams cut their ride short opting to finish a little early than stay out to the max of 5 hours. Winners of the MTB event the mixed team of Alex Pope and Jane Swarbreck.

Thanks to all the helpers and organisers, Ian Bratt, Glen Terry, George and Joan van Jaarsveld, Adele Kleynhans, also a big thank you to CAPESTORM for their continued support of this event.
