Finns take top honors at 14th Sprint Cup

The 14th running of the annual Sprint Cup hosted by ROC and organised/planned by Nicholas Mulder was another succesfull event, still only 50 odd orienteers turned up for this traditional event, due to the time of year not many more were expected.

The appearance of 2 elite Finnish orienteers,  Marika Teini ranked 185 and Olli-Markus Taivainen ranked 65, needless to say these 2 trounced the opposition leaving the Michael Crone and Stephanie Courtnage to take the first Sout Africans home in the Mens and Ladies courses.

This event consisted of a prelim course which decided the start order for the final course , courses were 2,4 km and 2.3km with about 100m climb , although most would think there was more clib with the leg 8-9 on the mens course :-)

A great day out for everybody and a good chance to stretch those legs before the BIG 5 events in January.

Thanks to the ROC team for the great organisation, and thanks to the helpers on the day, George and Joan, Adele, Charles, Ian, Richard, Pat and Evan always eager control collectors, Trevor,Alex and Sarah

Full Results will be published soon.
