The SC series has been completed for 2008, this year all 6 events were held in the 1st 3 months of the year with the colour coded events to follow in the remaining part of the year. A huge attendance by Gauteng standards +/- 130 orienteers took part in the event held at the Johannesburg Zoo. It was a fantastic area with a great map and good planning, the event was very well run well done to the RACO team.
The area also lent itself to a perfect place to stay after the event and have a picnic then go a watch Elaine Bratt feed the Cheetahs and Wild Dogs after giving a talk on the Polar Bears.
The racing was hard and fast with only 3 seconds seperating 1st and 2nd Jeremy pipping Alex to the post (both made a huge 1 min error.
After the event prizegiving the medals were awarded for the series, unfortunately Nicholas did not compete in enough events to be on the log but well done to Ian and Sarah the only ROC members to win medals.
